The brand new Kulosaari wool rug was born from the collaboration between designer Tuulikki Peltonen, Avotakka, and VM Carpet. In the Meillä kotona stores' Live Shopping evening on Wednesday, November 2nd, starting at 6 PM, we will talk about the rug's origins and materials. During the live event, you'll also receive a special offer that you can use when purchasing your own rug!
Kulosaari is an ecologically sustainable wool rug, dyed with domestic plant dyes. Each rug is woven in VM Carpet's own weaving mill in the village of Karvala.
During the live shopping evening, starting on Wednesday, November 2nd, at 6 PM, you will have the opportunity to acquire an authentic Kulosaari rug in one of its three different sizes and three different color options. The first rug is blue, dyed with Finnish woad. The second rug is beige, dyed with Finnish willow. The third rug is greige, also dyed with domestic willow.
The first 20 buyers will receive a numbered rug, hand-signed by the rug's designer Tuulikki Peltonen.
The Kulosaari rug is available in three different sizes: 90 x 200 cm, 160 x 230 cm, and 200 x 300 cm.
The stripes of the beige and greige Kulosaari rugs are dyed with domestic willow. The blue stripes are dyed with woad grown in Finland. The wool is undyed.
At the event on Wednesday, November 2nd, at 6 PM, Avotakka magazine's editor-in-chief Kari-Otso Nevaluoma and designer Tuulikki Peltonen will tell you more about the rug.
