Downloadable pattern: Kaarna sweater (designer Ronja Hakalehto)

The boxy Kaarna sweater is knitted top-down, partly using stranded knitting, first flat, then in the round. The worsted yarn is soft and pleasant to knit with.

The Kaarna sweater pattern was published in Rakkaat kuviot & Pentik magazine, where Pentik's home textiles and ceramics served as inspiration.

Sleeve length from underarm to cuff: 13 cm (or desired length)

Length from underarm to hem: 28 (28, 29, 30, 30.5) (30.5, 31, 31) cm (or desired length)

Materials: 

Yarn: Vuonue Pentti worsted yarn (70% Finnish wool, 30% Tencel, 240 m/100 g)

MC: 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) (4, 5, 5) skeins or 560 (630, 730, 850) (955, 1065, 1190, 1325) m

CC: 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (1, 2, 2) skeins or 135 (155, 175, 205) (230, 255, 290, 320) m

Needles: 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm 80 cm circular needle (and double-pointed needles for sleeves if not knitting with the Magic Loop method), 3.5 mm 40 cm circular needle for the neckline

Gauge:

18 sts × 25 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch, 19 sts × 25 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stranded knitting in the round.
