Downloadable instructions: Pilkut beanie (designer Minttu Wikberg)

Minttu Wikberg's Pilkut beanie was previously published in Rakkaat kuviot & Pihlgren ja Ritola magazine, where the inspiration came from Pihlgren ja Ritola's iconic wallpaper patterns.

Knitting of the beanie begins with twisted ribbing. The rest is knitted in stranded colorwork up to the crown of the beanie.

Pattern information:

Size:

Adult. The finished beanie's circumference is approximately 51.5 cm. The beanie has approximately 5 cm of negative ease. The finished beanie should fit snugly, as it will loosen slightly with use.

Materials:

Yarn: Novita Woolly Wood (220 m = 100 g), 1 skein or 90 g of color dyyni 603; Novita Tuuli (225 m = 25 g), 1 skein or 25 g of color heijastus 604; Novita Icelandic wool (90 m = 50 g) 1 skein or 20 g of color noki 099.

Needles: 4.5 mm circular needle (60 or 80 cm) or to achieve gauge.

Other materials: tapestry needle, 4 stitch markers.

21 sts = 10 cm in stranded colorwork
