Nothing warms the heart like a handmade gift! We've picked out some craft instructions from the Kotona Knit Club selection to inspire your Christmas gift workshop.
A salmon for a gift
A smile is sure to appear on the recipient's face when they find the Salmon cowl in their package! Designed by Emma Suominen, this knitted cowl protects against the biting wind, and its stylish pattern looks great both in the city and on fishing trips. The instructions are challenging, but the end result is worth the effort.
Beautiful and practical
The Cherry Tree shoulder bag is a wonderful gift idea, as a bag is sure to be used! Designed by Anna Tanskanen, this bag is knitted with a triple strand of yarn to make it firm and well-shaped. A leather strap and embroidered flowers complete this lovely bag.
Smiling cheerfully
Saimaa Ringed Seal socks are a lovely gift idea for a nature enthusiast! Erik Bruun's smiling Saimaa ringed seals illustrate these wool socks, which are suitable for more experienced knitters. The socks are knitted from the cuff to the toe, and the flap heel makes for a particularly comfortable fit.
Worthy of applause
If the gift recipient appreciates classic style, knit them Empress mittens. The cable pattern in the instructions designed by Heli Hottinen-Puukko makes the mittens decorative, but the solid color keeps the overall look restrained. This is a gift that will be remembered (and used!) for a long time.
Or crochet instead?
If you'd like to crochet instead of knit, make a Bubble bag for a loved one! Suitable as both a shoulder bag and a makeup bag, this bag is made from four pieces crocheted with a triple strand of cotton yarn. The finished bag measures approximately 25 x 13 x 14 centimeters, and the result is sturdy and firm.
Psst! If you're giving the bag as a toiletry bag, tuck in a face mask or moisturizer as well.
