Avotakka by Cover Story is a collection of six timeless shades, created through a collaboration between Avotakka and the Finnish paint manufacturer Cover Story. Cover Story has become known for its plastic-free and odorless paints, as well as its stunning shades.
– Cover Story is a natural partner for Avotakka in every way, as we also promote responsible and sustainable interior decorating. We created a collection where all six paint shades offer a durable palette for combining modern and vintage styles, says Avotakka's editor-in-chief Kari-Otso Nevaluoma.
The collection includes three shades designed exclusively for Avotakka: Axel – Swamp green, Ester – Soft butter yellow, and Helga – Cumin yellow. The inspiration for the palette's design came from the 1970s, the same era when Avotakka was founded. Three complementary shades, 019 Maya – Warm beige, 024 Anaïs – Peachy powder, and 025 Oscar – Deep burgundy, have been selected from Cover Story's basic collection of 47 shades.
The Avotakka by Cover Story collection is designed so that the shades can be used both individually and combined with each other, either as large surfaces or as accents for details. The collection encourages experimenting with how combining shades changes the character of a space and how the shades work for different purposes. A4-sized adhesive-backed color samples, painted with real paints, help in choosing paint shades.

AV1 AXEL

AV3 HELGA
Cumin yellow is a rich, cumin-yellow paint shade that makes a space relaxed and cozy. Its bold spiciness infuses the decor with a touch of 70s atmosphere and transports thoughts to distant lands. The muted orange-yellow gives interior walls and ceilings a softly light-reflecting matte finish.
