The Beloved Patterns knitting magazine is a special issue for knitting enthusiasts who are excited by the new and appreciate high-quality knitwear design.
The knit designs of the Beloved Patterns & Birger Kaipiainen magazine are inspired by Birger Kaipiainen, a Finnish designer and ceramist. Kaipiainen’s style is characterized by stylized nature motifs, especially flowers, fruits, berries, and birds, as well as female figures.
From the 124-page magazine you will find instructions for 20 unique knitting patterns: several gorgeous colorwork sock designs, cardigan with flower patterns on sleeves, yoked colorwork sweater, pullover with intarsia patterning, two hats using interesting techniques, wall hanging for home decor and colorwork cushion, amazing colorwork mittens, trendy knitted pouch, and lots more. Additionally, you can read about Birger Kaipiainen's career.
The patterns have been designed by top knitwear designers Minttu Wikberg, Anna Tanskanen, Joona Höri, Maria Kostamovaara, Mia Sumell, Niina Laitinen, Paula Narkiniemi and Sisko Sälpäkivi. The skill level of the patterns varies from easy to medium. All patterns are unique and have not been published previously.
Most of the patterns are graded in sizes XS–5XL. The Palmikkokukka sweater is graded in sizes XS–3XL. The socks are for women's EU sizes 38–39 (US 7–7.5). Most sizes can be modified larger, and most of the instructions include guidance for this. You can also increase the sock size by changing the yarn or using larger needles.
The magazine's knitting patterns feature yarns such as Novita, Sandnes Garn, Tukuwool, Säie Wool, and Vuonue, The chosen yarns are favorites among Finnish knitters, and some of them are also available internationally or can be substituted with local yarns.
