Downloadable pattern: Vire Cowl (designer Reetta Pellikka)

This chunky cabled cowl features ribbed cables with a consistent pattern. The cowl is knitted from the top down with two yarns held together, and the neckline ribbing is knitted last.

Pattern details:

Size:

One size. Width 37 cm, length (shoulder–hem) 30 cm. Neckline ribbing length 12 cm.

Materials: 

Yarn: 200 g Novita Wool Rescue / 7 Veljestä Nature / 7 Veljestä or other Aran weight yarn and 50 g Novita Tuuli / or other lace weight mohair.

Needles: 5 mm – 80 cm circular needles and 4 mm – 40 cm circular needles. Choose needle size to achieve the correct gauge.

Other materials: tapestry needle.

Gauge:

25 sts × 24 rows in pattern stitch = 10 × 10 cm with larger needles (after blocking).
