The pattern for Viola socks was published in Rakkaat kuviot & Birger Kaipiainen magazine, where the inspiration came from Birger Kaipiainen's patterns and art ceramics.

The socks are knitted from cuff to toe. The pansy is embroidered afterwards.

Circumference at top of cuff: 22 cm, cuff height: 9 cm.

Materials:

Yarn: Gjestal Janne (85 % wool, 15 % polyamide, 100 m/50 g). MC: 402 white (bleached), 2 skeins. CC1: 406 dark blue, 1 skein. CC2: 410 bright blue, 1 skein. CC3: 421 burgundy, 1 skein. CC4: 422 muted lilac, 1 skein.

Needles: 3.5 mm double-pointed needles (or size to obtain gauge)

Other materials: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, and scrap yarn

Gauge:

26 sts and 34 rows / 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round
