Downloadable instructions: Hietikko socks (designer Meiju Kallio)

The thin wool socks designed by Meiju Kallio fit even in sneakers. The Hietikko socks are adorned with a delicate and modern cable pattern.

Size:

38. Foot circumference approximately 20 cm. You can adjust the size by changing the length of the foot as desired. You can add more width to the foot and calf by increasing the number of stitches at the back of the sock.

Materials:

Yarn: Vuonue Wilhelmi sock yarn.

Needles: 2 mm and 2.5 mm circular needles with an 80 cm cable. The pattern is written for the magic loop technique, where one sock is knitted at a time with a long circular needle. You can also knit the socks with double-pointed needles; more detailed instructions are in the PDF.

Other materials: tapestry needle, scissors, cable needle.

Gauge:

30 sts x 40 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in pattern stitch after blocking.
